The original machinery of the Loiudice Semolina Factory was built in Altamura, well known for its delicious bread: our team has been motivated by the main goal of obtaining a highly quality semolina since then. Following in the footsteps of their father Massimo, Pasquale and Donato built a second machinery for the production of remilled semolina, the main ingredient of Altamura’s bread. In 1962 the Molino, that was rebuilt after a fire, was equipped with new higher-yielding machines, in full respect for tradition. In 1994, thanks to Massimo, leader of the 3rd generation, new Grain Silos and two modern grinding sections were built to raise quality, efficiency and reliability standards.

Efficiency, reliability and quality

The increasingly innovative ideas of Loiudice’s 4th generation look to the future, strengthened by a baggage full of experience, competence, and tradition, that was handed down from father to son. Nowadays, Semolificio Loiudice acts as a point of reference to guarantee trust throughout Italy for new sales of durum wheat semolina and re-milled durum wheat.

Our story

1939

1942
Foundation of Molino Loiudice, the second plant of the family, dedicated to the production of re-milled semolinas, the main ingredient of the famous Altamura bread.

1999
Relocation to the new site of Casal Sabini, in the Altamura countryside, and the construction of a modern mill, served by an important storage capacity and equipped with two independent lines: one for the production of semolinas for pasta, and the other one for re-milled semolinas and special semolinas.

2010
Construction of new steel grain silos to expand the range of grains ground by the mill.

2020
Construction of a new semolina storage and in bulk mixing plant, and a modern semolinas packaging shed to meet the demands of an increasingly numerous and demanding clientele. Construction of a photovoltaic system to provide the mill with green energy.
